Here are some frequently asked questions we receive:

  • WHY A TRITOON?  A tritoon has a third tube (toon) in the center which distributes weight more evenly, providing increased stability and handling.  Tritoons can handle more horsepower, making for a more comfortable (and fun!) ride on the water.  Ours come with a 150 hp motor, 40 gallon fuel tank, seagrass flooring, tow bar to maximize tubing fun and an adjustable bimini top.

  • IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO RENT?  Our boat renters must be 34 years or older in order to rent & have a valid driver's license.  NC law does require a special boating license under age 34.  If you are between 30-34 years old, you must have a valid, current boater's license in order to rent from our company.  Please take the time to also visit this website for boating safety prior to your rental to better familiarize yourself with the various safety rules and regulations you are responsible for following.  Keep in mind, we also require previous captaining experience to rent on weekends and holidays during peak season.

  • IS THE COST OF FUEL INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE RENTAL?  No, fuel is not included in the cost of the rental & will be charged to your credit card once your rental is complete.  Fuel can range anywhere from $5.99-$6.99 per gallon.

  • DO YOU PROVIDE LIFE JACKETS?   Yes!  We provide adult (up to 2XL), children (30 lbs & up) & preteen life jackets at no additional charge.  NC law requires children 13 & under to wear a life jacket at all times. If you are above the age of 13, the state of NC does not require you to have a life jacket on while underway but we do STRONGLY advise you to put one on (regardless of age & swimming ability) if you plan on entering the water.  Lake Norman is a wonderful place but it is also extremely popular & can get very crowded during the busy season.  Every year, too many lives are lost on Lake Norman due to drowning & most of them are adults.  Please don't play with your safety, wear a life jacket when in the water.

  • IS ALCOHOL ALLOWED?  The short answer is yes, we do permit alcohol on our boats but in moderation. We are not a good fit for you if you're looking to go party on the lake.  We sincerely care about our clients & their safety & will not allow you to take possession of the boat if we feel you will not be responsible.  The captain, of course, is not allowed to consume any alcohol at any time.

  • CAN I BEACH THE BOAT OR TIE UP TO ANOTHER BOAT?  No.  You are not allowed to beach the boat or tie up to another vessel.  Failure to follow this rule will result in the loss of your complete security deposit.

  • CAN I RENT A TUBE?  Yes, a 3 person tube can be rented for $35.

  • CAN I CANCEL MY RENTAL?  We require a 72 hour notice if you need to cancel your day of fun.  No-shows & late cancellations will be subject to a fee.

  • IS THERE A DEPOSIT?  A $750 security deposit on a major credit card is required before you take possession of the vessel & will be returned to you once the rental is returned on time & undamaged.

  • DO YOU OFFER A MILITARY DISCOUNT?  We love our military & we're happy to offer all active duty & retired military 15% off the cost of your rental.

  • WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?  No one likes to have their plans ruined by weather so we'll reschedule your rental day in the event of inclement weather prior to going out on the lake.  Once you have taken possession of your rental, we cannot offer a refund if weather pops up.

  • CAN I SHOW UP & RETURN THE BOAT WHENEVER?  It's important that you arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your designated rental start time to fill out paperwork & go over important safety instructions (yay safety!) prior to your departure.  We have multiple rentals launching on any given day so our launch times are strictly followed & will not be adjusted due to late arrivals.  If you show up late, your rental is subject to automatic cancellation with no refund.  Be sure to also return your rental on time, fees are charged for returning your rental after your scheduled return time.

  • ARE PETS ALLOWED?  We really do love furry family members but are unable to accommodate them on our daily rentals.  Vacation rentals may be allowed to bring a pet on board with prior approval & will be assessed an additional cleaning fee.

  • WHAT IF I DAMAGE SOMETHING?  Damages will be pulled from your $750 security deposit & any damage done above that amount will be charged to the credit card we have on file.
