frequently asked questions:

What is a Tritoon?
A tritoon features a third pontoon (tube) in the center, which offers superior stability, balance, and handling on the water. This design allows for more horsepower and a more enjoyable ride. Our tritoons are equipped with:
  • 150 HP Honda motor
  • 40-gallon fuel tank
  • Seagrass flooring
  • Tow bar for tubing
  • Adjustable bimini top
What are the rental requirements?
  • Renters must be at least 30 years old with a valid state-issued driver's license.
  • If you were born after January 1, 1988, North Carolina law requires you to have a valid boating license from your state of residence.
How do I get a boating license?
You can obtain a boating license through:
  • BoaterExam.com
  • Boat-Ed.com

We also encourage all renters to visit RentalBoatSafety.com before your trip to review important safety guidelines.
  • Note: During peak season weekends and holidays, we require renters to have previous captaining experience.
Is fuel included?
No, the cost of fuel is not included in your rental fee and will be charged at the end of your rental based off the amount you use. Please note:
  • Boats use marine fuel, which is more expensive.
  • A full 40-gallon tank can cost up to $300.
Do you provide life jackets?
Yes, we provide life jackets at no extra cost, including:
  • Adult sizes (up to 2XL)
  • Child sizes (30 lbs and up)
  • Preteen sizes

North Carolina law requires all children 13 and under to wear a life jacket at all times.

  • We strongly recommend that everyone wear a life jacket when entering the water—regardless of age or swimming ability.
Lake Norman is a beautiful but busy lake. Many drowning incidents involve adults not wearing life jackets. Please stay safe.
Can we bring alcohol?
Yes--moderate alcohol consumption is allowed. However, if you're looking to throw a party on the lake, we are not the right fit for you.
We prioritize your safety and reserve the right to refuse service if we believe you will not act responsibly. Captains are not allowed to consume alcohol at any time.

We can recommend reputable local charter companies that allow you to enjoy your experience responsibly, without the need to worry about operating a vessel under the influence.
Can we beach the boat or raft up with others?
No. Beaching the boat or tying up to another vessel is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy will result in the loss of your full security deposit.

Do you offer military discounts?
